VolunTeens - Getting Started!
Summer is always a great time! And, summer is an exciting time around the hospital because of teen volunteers, ages 14 - 18. At Central Baptist we call them VolunTeens. The first step to becoming a VolunTeen is to apply before Sunday, May 2nd.
After applying, you need to set up an interview time for Saturday, May 8th by calling Volunteer Services at (859) 260-6670 as soon as possible. See the current interview schedule at the bottom of this page.
You will need to bring four items with you to your interview -
1. All VolunTeen Forms completed and signed by a parent.
2. Documentation of MMR.
3. A copy of your TB skin test that was done in 2010.
4. Money ($16) for your VolunTeen uniform. Checks are preferred and should be made out to CBH Auxiliary.
And, before you can begin volunteering, each person is required to attend the orientation on Thursday, June 10th - even returning VolunTeens.

VolunTeens - How the Program Works!
There are two parts of the VolunTeen Program at Central Baptist Hospital.
Sessions - VolunTeens volunteer in one area of the hospital for a four (4) hour shift each day Monday through Friday for a 3-week period. Shifts are either 8 AM - Noon or Noon to 4 PM. The Session dates for 2010 are:
Session 1 - June 14 - July 2
Session 2 - July 5 - July 23
Fellowship - Up to five (5) VolunTeens are invited from Sessions 1 and 2 to participate in a more intensive volunteer / observation experience. The VolunTeen Fellowship is 40 hours each week for a 2-week period. One week will involve broad exposure to the various clinical and support areas of the hospital. The other week will involve an in-depth exposure to the processes related to surgery at the hospital. The young people invited to participate in The VolunTeen Fellowship will demonstrate a strong desire to pursue a vocation in healthcare and have the maturity required to process a more intense experience. The VolunTeen Fellowship dates for 2010 are:
